We recommend the ASSET™ EZ24-NCO Dry Sampler for sampling of isocyanates in air. Both vapor phase as well as particulate isocyanate monomers and oligomers are efficiently collected simultaneously with the sampler.

Sampling is performed by active sampling with an air flow pump connected to the sampler. The recommended air flow through the sampler is 0.2 liters per minute. After completed sampling, you just seal the sampler and send it to our laboratory for analysis.

The sampler is so sensitive that even single fractions of the current exposure limits can easily be measured even with relatively short sampling times.

The sampler combines a unique ease of use with a world leading patented analytical technology, making it one of the market's leading and most advanced samplers for an effective and accurate sampling of isocyanates in air.

Analysis

We offer three different analysis packages. They consist of a routine analysis package which may be combined with two additional packages in order to obtain as complete and comprehensive measurements as possible.

Routine Analysis

The routine analysis package measures the contents of the following five different diisocyanates and as many monoisocyanates: 1.6-Hexamethylene Diisocyanate (HDI), 2.4-Toluene Diisocyanate (2.4-TDI), 2.6-Toluene Diisocyanate (2.6-TDI), 4.4'-Methylenediphenyl Diisocyanate (MDI) and Isophorone Diisocyanate (IPDI), and Methyl Isocyanate (MIC), Ethyl Isocyanate (EIC), Propyl Isocyanate (PIC), Phenyl Isocyanate (PHI) and Isocyanic Acid (ICA).

A determination of NDI (Naphthalene Diisocyanate) is optional, and is performed only after agreement with the laboratory.

HDI Adducts

Option number two includes both the routine analysis package for isocyanates, as described above, and in addition an analysis of the following HDI adducts: HDI-Isocyanurate, HDI-Biuret, HDI- Diisocyanurate and HDI-Dibiuret.

This extension package is a suitable choice for an environment where prepolymerized HDI with CAS-number [28182-81-2] can be assumed to occur. Other names for this product can be, for example, Hexamethylene diisocyanate homopolymer or HDI polymer.

MDI Oligomers

Option number three includes both the routine analysis package for isocyanates, as described above, and in addition an analysis of the following MDI oligomers: 2.4'-MDI, MDI-3-ring compounds and MDI-4-ring compounds.

This extension package is a suitable choice for an environment where prepolymerized MDI with CAS number [9016-87-9] can be assumed to occur. Other names for this product can for example be Diphenylmethane-4.4'-diisocyanate prepolymer or MDI prepolymer.
